Welcome to Kalpna

 

Kalpna is a family run restaurant which has been serving high quality Indian vegetarian food to the people of Edinburgh for a quarter of a century. Our family is dedicated to introducing people to the pleasures of Indian vegetarian food. Ajay Bhartdwaj, owner and head chef, travelled throughout India learning the different regional styles of cooking before coming to Scotland to establish the Kalpna, which draws on Punjabi, Gujurati and South Indian cooking.

 

In our dishes we use only the freshest ingredients, which, wherever possible we have  sourced locally. We have a new look but have kept many of the much loved favourites from our old menu but we have also introduced new dishes which reflect the contemporary style of cooking in India today, a style that embraces the concept of fresh, seasonal and exciting food.
